Team Survey

All highly effective teams share some common characteristics including; trust, loyalty, they are skilled, they have common values and goals, they are supportive, there is individual development & training, there is belief in success, creativity is fostered, open communication occurs, and the leader exerts a positive influence in the team.

Open communications

There is strong motivation on the part of each team member to communicate fully and frankly to the team all the information which is relevant and of value to the team’s activity. There is high motivation within the team to use an effective communication process so that it best serves the interests and goals of the team. Just as there is high motivation to communication, there is a correspondingly strong motivation to receive communication.

Leader’s Influence

The team leader exerts a major influence in establishing the tone and atmosphere of a work team by using effective leadership principles and practices.  Consequently, in a highly effective team, the leader adheres to those principles of leadership which create a supportive atmosphere and a co-operative (rather than competitive) relationship among the members. Two-way communication is fostered.

We readily acknowledge that our company or personal vehicles need regular maintenance but how often do we consider ‘team maintenance’?  Investment in our teams’ wellbeing is money well spent if we want our teams to perform to their potential.  Our team survey is a diagnostic tool to establish the current health of our team and examine the areas that might need assistance.

Our concise survey captures qualitative and quantitative data that will clearly demonstrate where your team sees itself at the time of the assessment, and can be used as a benchmarking tool for team performance. The team can provide a raw score across 10 performance dimensions, as well as examples of their concerns. This can be very useful as a targeted survey separate from any large scale engagement surveys. It is highly specific and team focussed in nature and the results form the basis of a solutions focused team workshop.

It can be beneficial for a team to re-complete the survey at 6-month and 12-month intervals to see what has improved and where a team’s future focus needs to be. This is a stand-alone survey or can be used in conjunction with the Teamstyles programme.
